Complex Posttraumatic Stress Disorder

Complex Posttraumatic Stress Disorder(CPTST) is caused by someone enduring a series of repeated traumas. CPTSD is often seen in individuals who were abused as children or have a history of domestic violence.
Individuals with CPTSD have symptoms of PTSD and often have depression, anxiety, self-abusive behavior, dissociation, and relational conflicts.
The primary treatment for CPTSD is EMDR. Both Schema Therapy and Polyvagal Therapy are used for assessment, self-regulation and relational management.
